PETROGULF MISR ACHIEVES BREAKTHROUGH IN DRILLING EFFICIENCY – SAVING $700,000 ON WELL “GNN-16” IN THE GULF OF SUEZ

In line with the strategy of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to maximize operational efficiency and reduce production costs, PetroGulf Misr achieved a technical and economic success in designing and drilling Well (GNN-16) in the Gulf of Suez by applying an updated drilling system and well design model in coordination with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC). The well is expected to contribute to increasing the company's production to exceed 30,000 barrels per day.
The operational team from both sides succeeded in modernizing the conventional well design and transforming it into a more flexible and efficient design, combining two drilling phases into a single phase and completely eliminating a casing string installation.
Record Economic & Time Savings
This technical cooperation between EGPC and PetroGulf Misr yielded tangible results on the ground, saving 5.5 days of drilling time, reducing costs by approximately $700,000, and improving operational efficiency through the deployment of modern technologies.

The success of Well GNN-16 reflects the capability of Egyptian cadres to innovate unconventional engineering solutions in line with the Ministry's vision to maximize the utilization of available resources and achieve the goals of the ambitious five-year plan to increase petroleum production.

في إطار استراتيجية وزارة البترول والثروة المعدنية لتعظيم كفاءة العمليات وتقليل التكاليف الإنتاجية، حققت شركة "بتروجلف مصر" نجاحاً تقنياً واقتصادياً في تصميم وحفر البئر (GNN-16) بخليج السويس عبر تطبيق نموذج محدث لمنظومة الحفر وتصميم الآبار، بالتنسيق مع الهيئة المصرية العامة للبترول، ومن المتوقع أن يساهم البئر في زيادة إنتاج الشركة ليتجاوز 30 ألف برميل يومياً.
ونجح الفريق العملي من الجانبين في تحديث التصميم التقليدي للآبار وتحويله لتصميم أكثر مرونة وكفاءة، حيث تم دمج مرحلتي حفر في مرحلة واحدة فقط، والاستغناء تماماً عن تركيب مواسير التغليف.
وفورات اقتصادية وزمنية قياسية: أثمر هذا التعاون الفني بين الهيئة وبتروجلف عن نتائج ملموسة على أرض الواقع، تمثلت في توفير الوقت واختصار زمن الحفر بمقدار 5.5 يوم، كما تم خفض التكاليف بنحو 700 ألف دولار وتحسين الكفاءة التشغيلية باستخدام تقنيات حديثة.
رؤية نحو المستقبل: يعكس نجاح البئر GNN-16 قدرة الكوادر المصرية على ابتكار حلول هندسية غير تقليدية تماشياً مع رؤية الوزارة لتحقيق أقصى استفادة من الموارد المتاحة لتحقيق أهداف الخطة الخمسية الطموحة لزيادة إنتاج الثروة البترولية.
